Chennai, 15 October 2025 — The Ekatvasutra India Foundation has been formally registered as a Section 8 non-profit company, marking a transformative milestone in the evolution of community-led cultural, educational, medical, and social empowerment.

Created as a multidisciplinary platform for ideas and impact, the Foundation will focus on education, science and research, healthcare and wellness, social welfare, women and youth empowerment, art and culture, environmental protection, and entrepreneurship development.

At the heart of this new institution beats its cultural soul — Bihar Chaupal Chennai (BCC) — which will continue to thrive as the Foundation’s official cultural wing, celebrating Bihar’s vibrant heritage while forging meaningful collaborations with Tamil Nadu’s cultural and artistic ecosystem.

From Roots to Renaissance — The Ekatvasutra Vision

Rooted in the Sanskrit ethos of Ekatva (oneness) and Sutra (thread of connection), the Ekatvasutra India Foundation represents a collective dream — to weave unity, inclusivity, wellness, and legacy into the social and cultural fabric of India.

Its integrated mission spans multiple verticals:

  • Art & Culture: Led by Bihar Chaupal Chennai, promoting regional languages, folk arts, music, theatre, and literary expression across Bhojpuri, Maithili, and Magahi traditions.
  • Education & Research: Enabling seminars, scholarships, and mentorship programs for students and youth across disciplines.
  • Healthcare & Wellness: Promoting health awareness through medical camps and research collaborations in integrative medicine.
  • Social Welfare: Launching community outreach programs for marginalized groups, with a focus on health, education, and inclusivity.
  • Women & Youth Empowerment: Building leadership capacity, entrepreneurial skills, and creative self-reliance through targeted training and mentorship.
  • Environmental & Entrepreneurial Development: Encouraging sustainability, innovation, and eco-conscious entrepreneurship through community and campus-based projects.

Bihar Chaupal Chennai — From Milan to Mission

What began in 2013 as a modest “living-room gathering” among a few families over cups of chai has blossomed into Bihar Chaupal Chennai — a living cultural movement with over 450 families and 1,200 active members.

Over the years, BCC has become synonymous with heritage celebrations — from Durga Puja, Chhath Mahotsav, and Holi Milan to Bihar Diwas, food festivals, and yoga gatherings — bringing together generations of Biharis and well-wishers in Chennai.

Now, as part of Ekatvasutra India Foundation, BCC will operate with structured governance, and dedicated committees for youth, culture, wellness, finance, digital outreach, and partnerships — ensuring continuity, transparency, and intergenerational leadership.

The 2025–26 Cultural and Wellness Roadmap Includes:

  • Sawan Milan Music Festival — A celebration of monsoon melodies, ghazals, and poetic heritage.
  • Durga Puja & Chhath Mahotsav — Faith and festivity merging in a spirit of belonging.
  • Chaupal Talk Series — Dialogues on heritage, youth leadership, health innovation, and social change.
  • Digital BCC 2025 Launch — A dedicated website, digital archive, and newsletter BCC Samvaad.
  • Heritage Walks & Workshops — Curated experiences linking Bihar’s traditions with Chennai’s historic spaces.
  • AYUSH & Wellness Camps — Community programs promoting preventive healthcare, yoga, and holistic living.
  • Sutra of Wellness – Yoga for All Movement — A flagship initiative taking yoga and Ayurveda to schools, offices, and rural communities.

Message from Dr. Ashish Kumar, Founder, Director & Sutradhaar, Ekatvasutra India Foundation

“Ekatvasutra is not merely an organization — it is a living thread of unity that binds culture, education, health, and humanity into one seamless fabric. With Bihar Chaupal Chennai as our cultural wing, we aspire to transcend geographical and generational boundaries — connecting hearts through art, minds through knowledge, and lives through wellness.

Our vision is to build a living legacy where future generations inherit not just stories of identity, but platforms of leadership, creativity, and compassion.

From Milan to Mission — this is not just a journey of nostalgia, but of nation-building through culture, community, and collective well-being.”

The Road Ahead

Together, Ekatvasutra India Foundation and Bihar Chaupal Chennai envision Chennai as a bridge city — where Bihar’s heritage and Tamil Nadu’s traditions harmoniously converge in a model of cultural symbiosis, social innovation, and wellness leadership.

The Foundation plans to collaborate with universities, cultural bodies, healthcare institutions, and government organizations in both states to co-create festivals, research programs, medical outreach, and public art projects that nurture unity through diversity and well-being through awareness.

In its essence, Ekatvasutra India Foundation seeks to transform collective emotion into collective evolution — empowering every individual to celebrate their roots, sustain their health, and shape India’s inclusive and resilient future.
